Snowdrops from the bank beside the stream
frilled with ice, while in summer
ducks fuss and paddle and nettles crowd the path.
The winter flowers, a gesture of love
on a cold February morning,
for the baby born that day
and for her mother.

Love it.
Lovely poem! It’s wonderful to see snowdrops.
We have lots of February birthdays in my family.
Beautiful!
Snowdrops… such a wonderful first harbinger.
They are like minor miracles the way they emerge through the worst of weather.
