May the tide carry you out beyond the face of fear. Three poems for Sunday. Yesterday it snowed and I made tartar sauce – just mayonnaise, lemon juice, mustard and a chopped pickle – to go with the cubes of frozen fish. And today they say the temperature will rise into the 60s F.
We have moved from an abundance of caution to in these difficult times. And the news comes in – from the world and closer to home – that for too many is grief beyond measure.

hi this is a very cute post.
Three poets I love. I am glad to see that Lucille Clifton seems to have received more recognition lately. Did you ever hear the score to the musical Derek Wolcott and Paul Simon wrote called "The Capeman?" A Broadway disaster I guess, but compelling music.
"The Capeman" passed me by. But I just went and looked it up and now I am curious about it and will have to delve a little more.
The poems are very reassuring in that "we are here because we are here" in a v positive way. Thanks for these three poems. They lifted me out of the onslaught of coping to a certain welcome silence. That to find simply in the trees and the sunshine. I am glad tho u weren't silent.
I know - they are a bit meaningful. But enjoyable any way!
These poems are all beautiful, Josie. I particularly like the first one as it resonates with my own feelings about that moment when everything good lies just ahead. It doesn’t stop me enjoying every day but that ‘knowing’ is just delicious!
It's a wonderful sensation - full of hope and optimism and the about-to- soon-to-one-day -will -begin threshold of something, whatever comes.
Beautiful. thanks
Yes - three quite wonderful poems. Thanks Martin.
